Unable to connect your WordPress to scalenut? Follow these steps.
Here are some issues that you might be facing and how to fix them
Error 1 -Sorry, you have entered an invalid domain
Reason for facing this issue:
- You have entered a domain that does not exist
- You have entered a valid domain, but WordPress is not installed on it
Solution:
- Please check the domain that you have entered, make sure that there are no typos, errors in the domain.
- Please check if you have WordPress installed for the domain, if not you can download it from here
Error 2- Sorry, you have entered an invalid username :
Reason for facing this issue:
- You have entered a valid WordPress domain but an invalid username.
Solution:
- Please make sure that you have entered the same username that you use to log in to your WordPress admin panel.
Error 3- Sorry, you have entered an invalid application password :
Reason for facing this issue:
- You have entered a valid WordPress domain and username but an invalid application password.
Solution:
- Please follow the process given in this article (https://help.scalenut.com/wordpress-x-scalenut-how-to-publish-an-article-on-wordpress-from-scalenut/ ) to generate a valid application password and try connecting again.
- If you are still getting the same error after following the above step, please check and disable any authentication plugins (for example.. REST API Authentication, Application Passwords) you have installed and try to connect again with the same process.
Error 4 -Sorry, you are not allowed to login as this user type. Please visit this link for more details :
Reason for facing this issue:
- Subscriber user type of WordPress will not be able to connect the app and export the article. (Contributor user type can connect the app but only export the article as draft but not publish or schedule).
Solution:
- Please check your user-type first on WordPress. User-type should not be a Subscriber if you want to connect to the app.
Error 5 - Sorry, we are unable to connect with your WordPress domain. Please visit this link for more details:
Reason for facing this issue:
- WordPress Publisher app is unable to establish a connection with your WordPress domain. This generally happens when the REST APIs are disabled on the website.
Solution:
- Please check if you have any security or authentication plugin installed in your admin panel which is disabling the REST APIs.
- Disable any authentication plugins (for example.. REST API Authentication) you have installed and try to connect again with the same process.
