Want To Know More About The Different Aspects On-Page Pro Tackles? Here’s a breakdown.
1. Meta Title Optimization for GEO: Fix What Matters with OnPage Pro
Meta titles (or title tags) are HTML elements that define the headline of a webpage—and they play a critical role in both search engine ranking and AI-powered content discovery.
In the age of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), where content needs to be understood by search engines, AI assistants, and platforms alike, a well-crafted meta title is your first impression.
OnPage Pro identifies and fixes five key Meta Title issues that can affect your content’s visibility and relevance across multiple engines:
Missing Meta Title - Flags pages with no meta title at all, allowing you to add GEO-optimized titles that improve discoverability and context for both users and AI models.
Empty Meta Title - Detects meta tags that exist but contain no value, so you can insert concise, keyword-rich titles aligned with local search intent.
Outside Head Tag - Ensures your meta title is correctly placed within the HTML <head> section for proper rendering and compliance with indexing standards across all platforms.
Multiple Titles Found - Resolves pages with conflicting or duplicate title tags, simplifying structure for search engines and reducing confusion for generative engines.
Length Exceeded - Highlights titles that exceed optimal character limits (usually 60 characters), prompting edits that keep messaging sharp and fully visible in SERPs and AI summaries.
2. Meta Description Optimization for AI & Search with OnPage Pro
Meta descriptions are HTML elements that provide a concise summary of a web page—appearing directly beneath the title in search results.
In the era of GEO, where discovery spans search engines, AI platforms, and voice assistants, a relevant and regionally-tuned meta description can significantly boost engagement and visibility.
OnPage Pro helps you fix the most common and impactful Meta Description issues, ensuring your content performs across engines and geographies:
Missing - Detects pages without a meta description, allowing you to add compelling, keyword-rich summaries that align with search intent.
Empty - Flags existing meta tags with no meaningful content, so you can fill them with contextually rich and locally relevant messaging.
Outside Head - Ensures your meta description is placed correctly within the <head> section of your HTML, maintaining structural integrity and cross-platform compatibility.
Multiple Found - Resolves conflicts where multiple meta descriptions exist on a single page—streamlining messaging and avoiding confusion for both users and AI systems.
Length Exceeded - Highlights meta descriptions that are too long (typically beyond 155–160 characters), prompting concise edits that ensure full visibility in search results and snippet previews.
3. Optimize External Links for Seamless GEO-Aware User Journeys
External links lead users to a different website or domain—and while they’re essential for credibility and context, how they function matters just as much as where they lead.
In the context of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), ensuring a smooth user experience across platforms is key.
OnPage Pro addresses one of the most overlooked but impactful issues:
Not Opening in a New Tab - The OnPage Pro identifies external links that don’t open in a new browser tab.
Fix it to prevent users from leaving your site entirely, keeping them engaged with your content—especially important when targeting audiences across varying digital behaviors.
If multiple external links are present on a page, you can review and select the most appropriate destination—ensuring relevance and user intent are both respected.
4. Canonical Tag Optimization for GEO-Driven Content Authority
Canonical tags are HTML elements that signal to search engines and AI platforms which version of a page should be treated as the primary source when duplicate or near-duplicate content exists.
This is critical for Generative Engine Optimization, where clarity and consistency directly impact how content is indexed, understood, and surfaced across platforms.
OnPage Pro addresses key issues that affect the effectiveness of canonical tags:
Missing - Flags pages without canonical tags, helping you specify the authoritative version—minimizing duplication issues and strengthening content signals across AI and search ecosystems.
Empty - Detects canonical tags that exist but contain no URL, allowing you to insert the correct link and properly guide engines toward the preferred version of your content.
Outside Head-Corrects improper placement of canonical tags found outside the HTML <head> section, ensuring they’re recognized and interpreted correctly by both search engines and generative engines.
Multiple Found - Identifies instances where more than one canonical tag exists on a single page—resolving conflicts and eliminating confusion about which version should be prioritized.
5. Strengthen Your Structured Data for GEO with Schema Markup Fixes
Schema markup is a form of structured data embedded in your website’s HTML that helps search engines and generative platforms better interpret the meaning and context of your content.
Think of it as speaking directly to AI engines—clearly labeling elements like product reviews, article authors, FAQs, and more.
For GEO, where discoverability goes beyond Google into AI chatbots, and smart content aggregators, well-structured schema markup plays a vital role in boosting visibility and engagement.
OnPage Pro tackles the two most critical Schema Markup issues:
Improper Structure - Identifies schema markup that exists but is incorrectly implemented—such as wrong nesting, missing fields, or invalid values. These errors prevent AI and search engines from properly understanding or displaying your content, limiting your chances of rich results and AI snippet inclusion.
Missing - Flags content that lacks schema markup altogether, giving you the opportunity to add relevant, region-specific schema (e.g., Local Business, Product, How-To) that improves how your content appears and performs across generative platforms.
Proper schema implementation enhances how your content is interpreted, displayed, and ranked—not just in search engines but across the entire GEO ecosystem.
With OnPage Pro, you ensure your structured data is accurate, impactful, and aligned with modern content discovery.
Please note - You’d have to manually check for Schema Markup issues, and then approve it. Here’s how -
STEP 1 - Click on ‘View Schema’ for the issue you want to fix.
STEP 2 - The issue will appear in red. Click on Edit to add the required field.
STEP 3 - Once you’ve checked/made the edits and then click Save to keep the change. Once saved, you can click on Approve.
6. Make Images Accessible & Discoverable with Alt Text Optimization
Image Alt Text is a brief, meaningful description added to an image’s HTML tag. It ensures that users with visual impairments, screen readers, or low-bandwidth devices can still understand the image’s content.
But in the age of GEO, alt text does more than support accessibility—it helps AI engines interpret and surface your content accurately.
OnPage Pro addresses a key issue:
Missing Alt Text - Flags images lacking alt attributes, which not only hinders accessibility but also reduces your content’s visibility across visual search platforms, generative engines, and region-specific AI experiences. When you add context-aware alt text, it enhances reach, comprehension, and cross-platform discoverability.
Make every image count—for users, AI, and global reach—with GEO-optimized alt text using OnPage Pro.
Pro Tip: Use Filters to Prioritize GEO-Relevant Fixes Faster
The Filter option (top-right corner) is your shortcut to smarter, faster optimization. Whether you're fixing Meta Titles, Descriptions, Schema Markup, Alt Text or more, filters help you zero in on what matters most—especially for specific content improvements.
You can filter issues by:
Type: Choose specific on-page elements like Meta Title, Meta Description, External Links, Canonical Tag, Schema Markup, Image Alt Text.
Issue Category: Narrow down by error types such as Missing, Empty, Outside Head, Multiple Found, or Length Exceeded.
Status: View only Approved, Un-Approved, or All suggestions.
This is especially helpful when optimizing large websites for GEO—so you can tackle high-impact, specific fixes first, and improve discoverability without wasting time.
Once you've selected your filters, click Apply to view the refined list—and focus where it counts.
NOTE: OnPage Pro automatically refreshes every 14 days, but you’ll need to manually trigger it using the refresh button to pull the latest on-page insights.
