After all, the vast world of online content can be overwhelming for both creators and consumers.

And here’s where the interlinking feature comes into play. It is a powerful tool that can help navigate this complex web of information, and offers a seamless roadmap for connecting and exploring content.

Don’t know where to start? In this help guide, we will explore the interlinking feature and navigate through the process of including it in our article.

What is interlinking?

Interlinking, or internal linking, refers to creating hyperlinks that connect one page or post on a website to another page or post within the same website domain.

What are the benefits of interlinking?

  • Enhances website navigation: Interlinking simplifies access to relevant content, improving the overall navigation of the website.
  • Distributes link equity: Internal links serve as a means to distribute authority or "link juice" throughout the website, a crucial aspect in SEO.
  • Improves crawlability: Internal links aid search engine crawlers in discovering and indexing content, contributing to enhanced SEO performance.
  • Affects search engine ranking: Well-structured internal linking positively influences how search engines perceive the relevance and importance of your content.
  • Reduces bounce rate: Internal links decrease bounce rates by providing more opportunities for user engagement, indicating higher satisfaction.
  • Organizes information: Interlinking assists in organizing the content hierarchy, guiding users through a logical flow of information on the website.

Here’s how you can leverage the Interlinking feature in the Editor -

Head to the Scalenut Dashboard and choose any article report from either of the two modules - Article Writer/ Content Optimizer.

In this case, we’d be showing how to use the interlinking feature in the Article Writer.

In the editor, you’ll find the ‘Interlinking’ option. Click on it.

Click on ‘Add Domain’

On the manage domains screen, select ‘Continue on Google’

Now connect your GSC. Once done, enter your domain and select the target country. Then, click on ‘next’.

‘Select Pages to Optimize’ by clicking on the box beside them. Then, click ‘Let’s Go’.

On this screen, simply click on ‘cross’, if you do not wish to add a new domain.

On this screen, you can add up to 5 domains.

Simply click on ‘Add New Domain’ and follow the same steps.

Once you’ve added your domain, click on ‘Interlinking’ again. You can either click on ‘Add Domain’ or select the domain you have connected by simply clicking on it.

Choose your domain and press ‘Start’. Our platform will then process the data.

On the right side of the editor, you will see all the interlinking data available. You can add them if you want, or dismiss them.

Please note: In case, one single keyword is present in multiple places, you can simply click on the arrow to select where you want to insert the link.

Once you’ve fixed the interlinking, all the suggestions will show up as ‘Fixed’. You can then click on ‘Exit Interlinking Mode’ to get back to the editor.

Please note: Once you have connected the domain for the article, you cannot change it for that particular report. Interlinking feature is only available for Pro-Plan users.
