Scalenut’s Internal Linking is a powerful feature designed to simplify how content connects and flows across your website.

Now that Scalenut has evolved into a full-fledged GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) platform, every feature—including interlinking—is optimized not just for search engines, but for AI discovery and enhanced user experience.

This tool offers a seamless way to create contextual interlinks within your content, helping you build authority, improve navigation, and increase engagement across your articles.

Don’t know where to start? In this help guide, we’ll walk you through the internal linking feature and how to incorporate it effectively into your article.

What is Interlinking?

Interlinking, or internal linking, refers to the practice of linking one page or post of your website to another page or post within the same domain.

It not only helps readers discover related content but also assists AI engines and search bots in understanding your site’s structure—an essential part of GEO success.

Here’s how you can leverage the Interlinking feature in the Editor -

STEP 1

Log in to your Scalenut account. Then, click the “Article Writer/Cruise Mode'' button available on the left navigation panel under the GEO Core section on your Scalenut Dashboard. You can also access the Interlinking feature from the Content Optimizer. But in this case, we’d be showing how to use the interlinking feature in the Article Writer.

STEP 2

On the redirected screen, in the keywords field, enter your primary keyword along with any relevant secondary keywords. Next, select your target location and click the “Create” button to proceed. Or, simply open any report and head over to the Editor after completing the Cruise Mode steps.

STEP 3

In the editor, you’ll find the ‘Interlinking’ option. Click on it. If no other domain was connected prior, you’d find a pop-up appear like this. Simply click on ‘Add Domain’

STEP 4

Select the Gmail account associated with the domain and click ‘Continue’

STEP 5

Once connected successfully, you’d see the domain appear here. Simply click ‘Start’.If you wish to add some other domain, you can always do that.

STEP 6

On the right side of the editor, you will see all the interlinking data available.

STEP 7

You can add them if you want, or dismiss them.
Please note: In case, one single keyword is present in multiple places, you can simply click on the arrow to select where you want to insert the link.

STEP 8

Once you’ve fixed the interlinking, all the suggestions will show up as ‘Fixed’. You can then click on ‘Exit Interlinking Mode’ to get back to the editor.

Please note: Once you have connected the domain for the article, you cannot change it for that particular report. You have to open a different report to connect a different domain for interlinking. The interlinking feature is only available for Growth and Pro-Plan users.
