How to manage keyword clusters?

Learn how to organize and optimize keyword groups, target relevant search intent, and boost your online visibility.

Managing keyword clusters in a GEO strategy means more than just organizing topics—it’s about effectively targeting different regions, cities, or local user intents.

When you're optimizing for specific locations, keeping your keyword strategy structured is key. That’s where Tags come in. Tags allow you to group and categorize keywords based on geographic areas, service regions, or location-based themes—making it easier to tailor content for local audiences and geo-specific search queries.

Looking to streamline your GEO keyword management? Follow these steps to organize your clusters in a way that supports visibility across regional and local search landscapes.

STEP 1

To access your keyword clusters, sign in to your Scalenut Account and navigate to the Keyword Planner in GEO Core. On the right side, you'll see the 'Filter tags' option, which allows you to search, create, or manage tags.

Note: The maximum character you can input for any tag is 20.

Or, you can also do this from the ‘Add Tag’ button beneath the Keyword Cluster name. The same list of options opens up.

STEP 2

To manage your tags, click on the blue 'Manage' text at the top right corner of the drop-down menu.

STEP 3

You can easily edit or delete any tag names from there using the corresponding icons.

STEP 4

To modify a tag, click on the pencil icon. It will allow you to give the tag a new name.

For example: We want to change the name of the ‘Heath’ tag to ‘Fitness’.

Once you have entered the new name, click ‘OK’ to save the changes.

You have now successfully changed the name of your tag.

STEP 5

To delete a tag, click 'Manage' first.

STEP 6

Then select the bin icon

Once you have done this, click on 'Confirm' to confirm the deletion of the tag. Please keep in mind that you cannot undo this action.

The tag will now be permanently deleted.
