How to filter out Scalenut crawler traffic from your Google Analytics Data
To ensure that your Google Analytics accurately reflects "real" traffic from human visitors, you can set up a filter to exclude any visits from the Scalenut bot. This will help remove automated bot traffic from your analytics data, giving you a clearer view of actual user engagement on your site.
Setting up this filter will ensure that the metrics you see in Google Analytics represent interactions from human visitors only, improving the quality of your traffic insights.
Want assistance in setting up this filter? Here’s how -
STEP 1.
Go to the admin panel on your view by clicking the gear icon in the left menu.
STEP 2.
Click "Filters" in the View settings.
STEP 3.
Click the "Add Filter" button.
STEP 4
Enter the following settings to the filter, and hit save.
The Request URI pattern to filter is scalnut_bot=true
You can apply these same settings to filter out bot visits from any of your other Google Analytics views as well.
This way, your Analytics data will more accurately reflect human interactions, providing you with a clearer understanding of genuine visitor behaviour.
